It´s all in the detail, courgette brownies
Almost every week, I treat myself with fresh cut flowers.
It´s a kind of reward for the busy days .
However, this may be a quite expensive treat.
In order to keep a certain budget, I will look for fresh buches of flowers at the supermarket or pick some single and really fragrant ones in some of the charming flower shops in my city.
I do not go for ready bouquets usually, but love to play with different glasses or tiny vases since love to mix match according to my mood.
Last week, I found these yellow freesias and now that the temperatures are increasing, their subtle perfume spreads in the room.
As for the brownie, I just mixed a full cup of grated courgettes in the traditional chocolate sponge cake recipe ( I am sure you have plenty of them). However, if you need some addistance, here I am:-)
The result was magnificient as the cake remained moist and softly melted in the mouth.
I like to dare in the kitchen and it´s nice to see that sometimes I succeed , too.
Or at least, so confirms my sweet hubby!!
Wishing you all a daring week!!!

Tanz in den Mai!
And so arrived the May!!!
With sun and warm temperatures. The fields with beautiful fresh grass and the most breathtaking landscape here.
The first spring red fruits already available and a big desire of eating al fresco.
I had my very first experience by cooking with tapioca:-) Have you ever tried it?
I prepared a coconut tapioca pudding with fresh rhubarb and blueberries!
It was surely ok, but needs to be improved before sharing the recipe.
In any case, it was definitely a try worth!
How did you start this romantic month? A bike ride? or maybe a friendly pic- nic outside?
My first day was not that idyllic.... I spent it clearing my winter wardrobe and eventually took out the summer outfits:-))
Have you already done it?
Wishing you all a magnificient first week of May!!!

The "fake" version
Happy Friday lovelies,
Just a quick post today, with some "fake" sushis I prepared few days ago.
Here is raining and it is chill outside...
Any plans for the weekend?
With this weather, we decided to visit a museum in Frankfurt . I love painting exhibitions.
Maybe that´s why I love colors?:-)
These"fake" sushis were rolled by using a wet Vietnamese rice paper. It was incredibly easy and since I do not like raw fish, I just took some smoked lox, a thin omelette and some avocado slices.
Now, I will enjoy some "blog-hopping " among your lovely blogs!!
Have a gorgeous weekend!!!

Something fresh!
Few days have gone since my last post.
Hope you had a great time during the Easter holidays and could enjoy the nice weather outside or at home if the temperatures were still low.
It has been a color blast these days outside. Trees are blossoming and you have stunning color combos outside.
After the long winter, I am looking for fresh and vivid colours and why not, fresh and unusual salads.
I would say, this time it is not necessary to write a recipe for the colourful salad we had few days ago.
Just cut into thiny slices the fruits and sprinkle some quality olive oil....
I am quite unhappy today, as I recognized all my Easter pics are gone !!!
Hopefully, I will be able to find them again...
Any plans for the weekend at your side?
I will meet some friends and I am sure we will have a funny time.
Wish you all great time !!!!

All that glitters is not gold
Few days ago, I was ready to bake some kind of Easter brioche with some fresh herbs, while preparing the dough I recognized I was run out of fresh yeast, so I picked a sachet of dried yeast, and thought it would be fine, too...
Alas!, while I let the dough to prove, it turned out into a "marble" mess:-((
Apparently, it looked everything fine ( too nice, I would say) but after baking it the inside was still raw and what had to be a cottony and softy dough shifted into a chewy and stone-hard brioche(?)
I was so much disappointed, so I decided to cut it into thiny slices and bake them again....
And that´s how my Easter brioche became crunchy crostinis ready to be handed over to my friends as a small Easter gift.
Hope you all are having a crispy week !!!
